Celebrating Women in Engineering at Aalberts
At Aalberts, we believe a great career is built through opportunity, continuous learning, and the freedom to explore new paths. Across our global teams, employees are encouraged to develop their skills, take on new challenges, and build careers that evolve alongside their interests and strengths.
In recognition of International Women in Engineering Day on June 23, 2026, we are highlighting two women from across Aalberts integrated piping systems whose careers demonstrate the many pathways available in engineering: Lara van den Berg, R&D Engineer specializing in technical master data, and Jorden Hardzinski, Product Manager for press solutions in the Americas.
Jorden Hardzinski: From Engineering to Product Leadership

Jorden’s pathway into engineering began with her strengths in science and mathematics. She began her professional career as a technical writer before transitioning into design engineering.
Today, as Product Manager in the Americas for press system solutions, she manages the product portfolio throughout its full lifecycle, from the earliest idea and development stages through commercialization and eventual product sunset.
Her engineering background continues to influence how she approaches product management, particularly through problem-solving, data analysis, project management, and understanding how complex systems work together. For Jorden, engineering intelligence means creating products that are not only innovative but also practical to manufacture and easy for customers to use.
Lara van den Berg: Building a Career Through Hands-On Learning
Lara’s interest in engineering began with creativity and a desire to work with her hands. She studied construction, welding, and mechanical engineering after recognizing that a technical field would allow her to turn that creativity into practical solutions.
She began her career at Aalberts as an R&D engineering intern. Shortly afterward, she started a part-time educational program that allowed her to continue her studies while learning within the company.
“Aalberts gave me the opportunity to study part-time so I could finish my education and begin working here,” Lara said.
After completing her studies, Lara joined Aalberts full-time and expanded her technical expertise by learning the company’s data systems from an experienced colleague. Today, she helps support production, solve product and manufacturing challenges, and develop new tooling and processes.
Her career has been shaped by a simple mindset: keep learning.
“Stay curious and keep learning,” Lara said. “That is real intelligence.”

Growing Through Opportunity, Leadership and Change
Lara’s and Jorden’s careers demonstrate how Aalberts supports employees as they grow into new responsibilities and explore different areas of the business.
For Lara, that support included the opportunity to complete her education while working, gain hands-on experience, and develop specialized knowledge in technical master data.
For Jorden, it included mentorship, professional development, additional training, and the opportunity to transition through multiple roles.
“Aalberts has helped me become a well-rounded professional,” Jorden said. “My managers have supported and mentored me, provided training opportunities, and trusted me to take on different roles.”
Neither career has followed a single, straight path. Instead, both women have continued to grow by embracing change, learning from others, and taking on challenges outside their original areas of expertise.
That ability to evolve is an important part of building a long-term career at Aalberts.

Creating Pathways for the Next Generation of Engineers
Engineering plays an essential role in solving problems, improving processes, developing products, and creating the systems and technologies that support everyday life.
It is also a career field with far more possibilities than many people realize. Engineering experience can lead to opportunities in research and development, manufacturing, operations, quality, product management, sustainability, technical support, sales, and leadership.
“There are countless types of engineers,” Jorden said. “Research the different fields to find the niche you want to explore.”
Lara’s advice to women considering an engineering or technical career is equally direct:
“If you want it, you can do it.”

Across Aalberts, we are committed to creating opportunities for people to learn, collaborate, and grow. Whether someone begins as an intern, enters through a technical role, or transitions into a new area of the business, we want Aalberts to be a place where curiosity can become a meaningful and rewarding career.
On International Women in Engineering Day, June 23, we proudly celebrate Lara, Jorden, and the women engineers across our global teams whose skills, ideas, and determination help us build better products, stronger processes, and new possibilities for the future.
